News and Events
Lake Elmo residents, your City staff is making an effort
to reduce the days licensed haulers will be on the streets of Lake Elmo. Over
the past several years, new garbage companies have been granted licenses to
haul in Lake Elmo. As a result,
different pickup days have been established.
Maroney’s has been collecting trash in Lake Elmo on Monday’s and Tuesday’s
for nearly 30 years. So we fought hard
to keep Monday and Tuesday pickup days. A
poll was also taken by the City, which showed 85% of residents preferred an
early week pickup of Monday/Tuesday. Unfortunately,
some of the new comers were unwilling to pick up on Tuesday. As a result, staff and haulers agreed upon
Monday and Thursday as Lake Elmo’s trash pickup days. For this reason, Maroney’s now has to move
all Tuesday customers to Thursday.
Beginning July 14th, all Tuesday Lake Elmo customers will be picked up
on Thursday. The time of day you are
serviced may change as we move routes and drivers around to accommodate this
change. All Monday Lake Elmo customers
will be unaffected. Take note this
change only affects Lake Elmo residents.
If you have a Lake Elmo mailing address but live in West Lakeland or any
other city or township, you should ignore this notice; your pickups will remain
unchanged.
Again, we are very sorry if this change has caused you
any inconvenience. Maroney's definately preferred to keep Monday and Tuesday as our Lake Elmo pickup days. If you with to contact your City officials you can visit the web site here.
